AI BRIDGE in the New Academic Year

AI BRIDGE successfully participated in Digital Czech Week, appeared on podcasts, and is preparing workshops, a course with Labor Office certification, and an accredited subject.
This initiative at the Faculty of Economics and Management at Czech University of Life Sciences Prague is entering the 2025/26 academic year with four pillars: practical workshops in the winter semester, an educational course "Generative AI" in the summer semester, an AI course with Labor Office certification directly at FEM, and a freshly released episode of the university podcast about AI.

Free Workshops in the Winter Semester
The series of free workshops led by doctoral students from the Department of Information Engineering will continue for the third year. Workshops always start at 6:00 PM and last two hours. Participation can also be used for bachelor's or master's practical training. Each workshop is truly a "workshop," so participants take away primarily practical output that they work on with the support of instructors.
In the winter semester, you can look forward to workshops on:
- AI for studying
- MCP servers
- Video generation with AI
- Vector databases and RAG
- AI in the music industry

Upcoming "Generative AI" Course for Summer Semester
In the summer semester, we will open the Generative AI course (24 hours of lectures + 12 hours of exercises, 3 credits). The course guarantor will be Ing. Martin Pelikán, Ph.D.
The course will be offered as part of lifelong learning and will conclude with a micro-certificate and credit award. In addition to students from CZU and other universities, the public and companies can also participate. This supports one of the main visions of the AI BRIDGE initiative: connecting academic and commercial environments.
Approval (accreditation) is currently underway at the university level, but accreditation is also being prepared at the level of the Ministry of Education (MŠMT) and the Ministry of the Interior (MV) to open doors for the public sector and also to provide financial relief to course participants through grant opportunities.
The course itself is designed very practically and prepares participants for the future job market, which is changing significantly. In addition to the user and technical perspectives, which we focus on most, we will also look at generative AI from social, legal, and ethical viewpoints.
AI Course with Labor Office Certification
Opportunity to complete an intensive 16-hour course with state-recognized Labor Office certification directly at FEM CZU. Participants work with current generative AI tools (text, images, video, sound, documents), including paid licenses provided as part of the course. It includes insights into future trends and practical tips for professional practice. The course will be led by Martin Čejka, a doctoral student at the Department of Information Engineering.
Podcast: "AI at University: Helper or Cheater?"
Two of the founders of the AI BRIDGE initiative, doc. Ing. Martin Pelikán, Ph.D. and Ing. Martin Čejka, were guests on "Podcast Full of Life" in an episode titled "AI at University: Helper or Cheater?"
Are people afraid of AI unnecessarily? How to use it to its full potential as a student? And will it ever replace teachers? The podcast opens up a topic that is moving the whole world and, of course, the academic environment.

This podcast was preceded by the very first podcast that the AI BRIDGE initiative participated in. Dmytro Molokoiedov accepted the invitation to the studio. We talked mainly about processes and the environment in the development of the artificial intelligence industry.

New Partnership with IT People

Technology agency IT People and the AI BRIDGE initiative are joining forces. CZU has been a member of the platform for more than a year. Notable appearances include an interview with Martin Pelikán, head of the Department of Information Engineering, and an interview on the topic "Women in IT" from the perspective of doctoral students Martin Čejka and Alex Belingerová from the same department.
As part of the partnership, AI BRIDGE will primarily help with lecturing, which is IT PEOPLE's commitment. In return, AI BRIDGE expects more participants from practice and a stronger name in the market.

Digital Czech Week 2025
During Digital Czech Week 2024, participants became familiar with current directions in the development of artificial intelligence that will soon affect the job market and our thinking about technology.
The 2025 edition took place in September, and the AI BRIDGE initiative organized two workshops within its framework – "AI AGENTS without programming knowledge" and "Web application development with generative AI support." These events attracted interest from more than one hundred registered participants.
